I like to start conversations with a blank sheet of paper. Not because I’m unprepared, but because I’ve learned that the most important solutions are rarely found where you first expect them to be.
Especially in times of uncertainty, it doesn’t help much to repeat old answers over and over again at an ever-faster pace. What does help is a change of perspective.
I’m less interested in who’s right than in why someone thinks the way they do. Polarization narrows our view. It produces quick certainties, but rarely viable paths forward. And that’s exactly what I observe time and again in my work: The truly good decisions don’t arise from an “either/or” scenario, but somewhere in between.
